What's my Art?

My art is mostly inspired by the"Spiritual Connection" between people of different cultures, races, religions & orientations. It represents the journey of my colorful life, connecting with people in Borneo (where I was born), Singapore (where I grew up), London, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong(where I have worked & lived) villages, towns & cities where I have visited. And now NYC where I currently live & create my paintings & artworks.

The materials I use are a fusion of (old/new) Eastern/Western materials. Traditional materials such as Chinese rice paper, oil, canvas fused in with the newer materials such as acrylic paint & metallic mixed medium.

Currently there are 3 series:

1) The Olympix 2) The Organic & 3) The Portrait Series.

The Olympix (spell with an x) Series are ellipses & rings interlocking with one other representing various people of different races, skin colors, "connecting" with each other. The underlying colors reflect the wonderful customs, cultures and ethnicity within these people.

The Organic Series are studies, drawings & oil paintings of "human spirit" connecting with the environments (landscape, forest, room, space,) in a respectful & harmonious manner.

The Portrait Series study the human"inner connection" within themselves, who they are behind the face, the space & people around them. Painting beyond the surface interest me more than the beauty itself.
